2022.01.28 18:48 unknowndude2727 Off topic I guess?

As I think I said before, I really don’t have anyone to talk to about these things. Tonight I got angry at my father went in my room started crying and speaking out loud my thoughts. Made me realise that I have a “trauma” I might call it? Anyways, he was yelling at me when I was around 10, saying that I am fat and my 🍆 won’t grow. Well, my 🍆 always has been a concern since then, that’s why I traded pictures with people, sent pictures to friends and so on… Always thought that something is wrong, even if it isn’t, many people told me, but I’m still insecure about it. Yeah now I’m going to the gym every day I hope I’ll look better. Thoughts?
Thanks and sorry for the weird topic.

2022.01.28 18:48 brutus_the_bear Pierre Poilievre speaks regarding "Well Poisoning"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7R-K7_gvb44
Afternoon to all in the Ottawa River Valley and la belle paysage francaise, I just wanted to share this clip in addition to an impression that I felt has been missed by many over the last couple of days.
In short there is a very real political phenomenon called Well Poisoning wherein certain bad actors are highlighted (or in some cases even inserted, a process sometimes known as astroturfing) into protests or other movements in order to give media outlets or security forces an easy target to discredit a movement as a whole.
We know from being Canadian that one refugee with an illness or with a racist sentiment does not make all refugees bad, we know that one drunk driver on new years eve does not make all Canadians irresponsible. This same logic applies to this convoy. And while I personally don't agree with the movement as a whole... I know that if the CBC shows me a clip of two guys in trump hats urinating on the sidewalk, that doesn't discredit the hundreds of thousands of Canadians that are quietly and actively resonating with this movement. I listened to the call in livestream last night and I'm certain that the 11 year old girl calling in to voice her support is not in fact a fascist sympathizer.
Secondly regarding Canadian Law and what this movement (I believe) represents, there is something called the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, this document was entered into the Canadian Constitution in 1982 and it speaks about personal rights. This is a very clear and important distinction. The Canadian Charter refers to rights of the person. That is to say the rights of individuals. The Canadian Charter offers no rights to collectives, groups, movements, convoys or any of the such. There is a right to peaceful assembly, but that belongs to the individuals.
Why is this important? It's important because we as a society often feel that there is a social contract, act a certain way, pay it forward and watch society as a whole flourish. That is a beautiful sentiment and I support it entirely (along with vaccination)
However society as a whole has no rights under the Canadian Charter, only the individual does. The Charter was drafted in this way thanks in large part by the work of Pierre Elliot Trudeau (Justin's Father). I would ask that all parties commenting or following this political movement over the weekend remember this fact going forward. The right to life liberty and security of the person is an individual right, society has no such right.
Now as I go forward and list the contents of the Canadian Charter (It's important to know your rights) I think everyone here can acknowledge that while perhaps a necessary action to prevent against the threat of SARSCOV2, the Canadian Charter has been significantly ignored in the name of public health.
Namely mobility rights, the right to travel in and out of Canada and to earn a living in any province within Canada, as well as the security of the person (interpreted by the courts to include the right to refuse any medical procedure) There are of course other violations of less constitutional statutes like genetic non-discrimination etc... And I do think it's strange to arrive at a time where breeches of "simple" laws by the government is normalized in the wake of breaches of the constitution act itself.
That being said, it may not appear at this moment that this matters to you, but rest assured, there are countries where the citizens are not so lucky to live under a constitution with inalienable personal rights. Those countries may even be more competitive on an international level by treating their people more as pawns then as citizens. Some of you may know of a large industrious country in the east wherein this is the case.
My understanding is: that it is far more convenient for the government there because they do not need to acknowledge these personal rights of the people when making policy that favors their party.
It makes sense. It also makes sense for certain countries (like our own) to be competitively compelled to emulate this system in order to gain an equivalent level internationally... This requires seizure of these rights, this requires erosion of our rights... That may even be necessary in the long term for survival, and that is a conversation worth having transparently, but for now?
The Canadian Charter of Right and Freedoms is the foundation of Canada. This current movement to remind the government to return rights that have been stepped on or stepped over or ignored or mandated or superseded by alleged misuse of the emergencies act... This is what Canadians are rallying to protest.
Yes some of them can't voice it, and yes they will be given the front and center spot on CBC most likely. But others feel it... It's not something that everyone can express, but the lack of freedom resonates with people and I believe this is what we are seeing now.
The idea that it's A vs B, vaccinated against unvaccinated, Trudeau against whoever, it's all a mischaracterization by convenience. Contrived, Designed? Who cares? The fact of the matter is, I understand why people are resonating with this rally because ultimately the Canadian Charter has been pushed aside in the name of the good of society. But the thing is, in Canada society has no rights, only the people do.
Thank you, please be safe.

2022.01.28 18:48 amedeocorona 2022 Best Cheap DJ Mixer for Scratching (Beginner)

Hi I know this has been asked before, but it's 2022 and maybe there's some better choices now.
I've been doing some research and I still don't know where to go.
I'm looking for a simple 2 channel mixer, that I can use for scratching. Preferably under $100. Maybe around $150 if it's worth it. Fuck it $200 if it's really worth it
I have a stanton str8-100 turntable and I'm looking to get another turntable soon, but I just want a mixer with a fader so I can do some scratching. Right now I've been using no fader, or the phone/line switch as a fader, but it's an uncomfortable reach.
*
Cheapest new options I've found are Numark M2 & Behringer NOX101
but from research it seems like those might be kinda shit and I should look for something used like a allen & heath xone 22 or 23.
Or just get any cheap mixer that can take an innofader and buy an innofader.
*
so of those 3 options which should i do, or a 4th option if you have a better recommendation
I'm not looking to do dj shows and shit I just wanted a fader for scratching to use in my beats

2022.01.28 18:48 Kathryn_westmarches Session report 28/01/22 - "Feywild 2: winter-court boogaloo"

DM: Robert Alex
Players: Cover (Bernard), Kathryn (Ruud)(me), Kolt(Owen), Raesa (Lotte), Valtros (Zach), Yan-Petr (Tijme)
Story:
Some strange things have happened in these last few days, some expected, some of which not.
It started when Valtros asked me to join him on an exploratory mission heading south. Or, I guess it started when Mex made a deal with the prince of the summer court, way back when. I asked Raesa to join, as she has a horse and carriage to make the long journey easier, and Cover, Kolt and Yan-Petr also came along. After a discussion on what direction to head off in, we decided to follow the road to the west, Risking another meeting with Blightfang, but giving us the comfort of a road, which would eventually split off into another road to bring us south.
Everyone did some last minute preparations, and we set off. The first few days went by without any trouble. I hunted for small game, With the aid of Solenor. We slept in the magical huts provided to us by Cover and Yan-Petr to provide us with shelter against the dragon. About three days in, when I set off to hunt some more animals, I felt a strange tugging sensation, pulling me into another realm.
I found myself in the feywild once again. Not much later, Cover, Kolt and Yan-Petr appeared around me, and then Raesa. -Why did Raesa get pulled into this, and not Valtros? And Mex was nowhere to be found either, even though they made the deal with the prince- We found ourselves in the summer court, with the prince sitting on his throne, magically beckoning us to approach him. As we did, I explained to Raesa why we were here: the deal Mex made, to save Alke.
-There were significantly less fey here than there were last time. Summer court.. maybe because it’s winter now?-
This seemed to cause her some emotional distress, to which -I assume- the magics of the feywild responded, twisting and turning, infecting Kolt with a horrible laughing fit, causing his muscles to seize up as he couldn’t stop laughing, even though he was clearly hurting. We reached the prince with relatively little other trouble. He reminded us of the deal we made, and showed us Alke, In a deep sleep, clearly underfed, but still alive. I asked if he was willing to give Alke to us already, but he -Obviously- didn’t oblige.
We set off without really knowing where we were going exactly, knowing only the name of where we were headed: Gleaming grove. We set off, hoping to find someone capable of giving directions. After a short walk, we came to a small clearing, with two old man sitting on the ground, staring at each other, not responding to outside input. (Cover made some amusing bunny ears, and put them on one of the men, he did not respond). Then Kolt tried grabbing one of the men, and moving him backwards. As soon as Kolt lifted him, the old man turned around and tried to bite Kolt in the face. Kolt immediately responded by throwing the old man over his back. With a sickening crunch, his neck broke as he hit the ground.
As I screamed out in shock, the other old man also screamed, but of happiness, and Cover vomited insects. The two old men were locked in a staring contest, for at least four hundred years. The man rewarded us, by summoning a table full of delicious food, and vague directions to the Gleaming grove. Cover offered him some food, which he declined, and then offered him some water. He agreed, but moments after he took a sip, he fell over, dead.
After burying the two men, we noticed that a new path had opened up, and we followed it further. After walking for a while, we heard some shouts, coming from somewhere deeper in the forest. We decided to investigate, and found a very small shepherd in a clearing made of very small grass, herding, or, attempting to herd, a decently large flock of very small sheep, but not succeeding. When we entered the clearing, we scared him quite badly. with us being many times taller, of course, but after convincing him we meant no harm, we offered to help him.
He accepted, and Kolt started bleating at some sheep. He then started counting them, and fell asleep after counting 69 of them. While the others were discussing what to do, I woke up kolt, and asked him what he was doing. He told me he talked with the sheep, and that they wanted grass. I ran into the forest, from the direction we came, and plucked a few handfuls of grass, returned, and gave them to the tiny sheep. They happily ate the (way too big for them) grass, After which the shepherd was able to herd them to his house. He thanked us, and to resolve his debt with us, he gave us all one of his sheep, and his best pair of shears. Cover also inquired if she could buy some of the wool, but sadly, he had to give all of it to the prince of the summer court.
We spent the night in the clearing, after which we set off towards the gleaming grove, following new directions this shepherd had given us. While we were walking, we found a small little girl on the road, crying. She had lost her parents, as they were taking her to the winter court for the very first time. Y-P offered her some tea, and Cover offered to bring her to the winter court, as we were going there anyway.
As we got closer to the winter court, the little girl started speeding up. “I recognize this, I know where to go” -even though she just mentioned this was her first time going there-
When we got there, it was a beautiful tree-like structure completely made out of ice. Inside, a large banquet of different kinds of chilled food, a faint ethereal music hanging in the air, and many, beautiful fey dancing around. As we entered, we were greeted warmly by the fey, as they invited Raesa for a dance, who eagerly agreed. Then Cover also joined them in dance, and Y-P started playing his lute, attracting quite a crowd. Kolt kept his distance from the crowd, leaving me and the little girl alone.
The Prince was nowhere to be found. As I thought about how we could get his attention, I noticed Kolt and Rae having a disagreement, in the middle of the dancefloor. Kolt tried to push her away from her dancing partner. Raesa, naturally annoyed by this, asked what was going on. At the same time, I saw Yan-petr acting strangely, ignoring the crowd around him, as if they didn't exist. Cover was still dancing. Kolt, trying to convince Rae of something, cast a zone of truth, to prove to her he was speaking the truth. As Rae looked around, an increasing panic spread over her face.
As this happened, Kolt’s demeanor changed. As if he had seen a ghost, he drew his sword, hacking at Raesa. Recognizing what happened here, as it had happened to me as well, I rushed towards Raesa, trying to convince her that Kolt did not mean to do that, and that it was the strange magic of the feywild that compelled him to attack something that didn’t exist. As I rushed over, Y-P loaded a rock into his sling, and launched it at Cover’s dance partner, hitting them straight in the head, causing their neck to twist at a strange, unnatural angle.
Combining all these strange occurrences, I looked around one last time, and it was like a veil had been lifted from my eyes. All of the fey, including the little girl, were illusions. In reality, the room was filled with frozen corpses, all with a faint smile on their face. Realizing we were not in the right place, we left. On our way out, we saw that one of the corpses had thawed, and was walking into the forest again. As we approached it, it telepathically spoke to us, once again trying to lead us back. Y-P destroyed it by slashing at it with his sword.
As we moved on, we saw another one of the frozen corpses thaw, and start shambling into the forest. We decided to ignore it, and head towards where we thought the Actual winter court would be. Clearing up all of those frozen corpses would be a lot of work, and we wouldn’t know for sure if it would actually solve the problem.
As we approached the real winter court, housed in large, frozen spires, we immediately saw a difference. There was no music, no dancing. all the fey here were much more somber, busy in conversation with each other. We approached the prince, and cover told him everything -a little too much if you ask me-. She told him about the deal we made with the summer prince, and how we had to shave his eyebrow (we got some strange looks when she mentioned that).
He, somehow, agreed to a bet. We would fight one of his champions. If we win, we shave off his eyebrow. If we lose, Cover has to sacrifice one of her spells. With these conditions, we made a deal, but before the fight started, Kolt added something else to the mix: His paladin oath. He explained that recently, he has felt unworthy of his oat, and that he wanted to prove himself by winning. The prince responded that winning this would not prove Kolt worthy of His oath. But, If Kolt were to win, he’d take the place of Kolt’s patron, and give him a new oath to swear. One that would be more fitting to someone proving themselves through combat.
When we agreed to the terms, the prince grabbed his greataxe, and slammed it on the ground, summoning a giant ice-golem. We engaged it in an arena. Kolt and Raesa ran up to it, hitting it with all their might, but also taking massive blows from the creature, spreading frost, and draining their vitality. Cover and I kept our distance, casting spells, rolling the dice on the seemingly random effects that the feywild produces when you cast a spell, and Yan-Petr provided his bardic support from far away. After a short, but difficult battle, Y-P felled the beast with his sling, hitting it straight in the face. Raesa and Kolt looked very rough, but we were all alive.
The prince kept to his promise, and gave us a dagger to shave off his left eyebrow. He also performed a short ritual, granting Kolt his power, and his new oath. After this, he sent us back, appearing right in front of the summer prince. He was livid. He expected us to perform a prank on the winter court’s prince, to trick him or do it stealthily. He didn’t seem happy with how we did it. “should’ve specified that better”, I retorted, which got him even angrier. He threw the sleeping Alke towards us, who I just managed to catch, and sent us back to the material plane, next to the wagon (No valtros).
We made our way back to town, where we sold the dagger, and brought Alke to the temple, to try and wake her up, using some of the pollen mazzan still had. As of yet, she’s not awake, but i”m sure she’ll be fine. I think
