10mg of Prednisone is not enough.

2021.12.01 09:38 baronessvonraspberry 10mg of Prednisone is not enough.

Quick version of story - had been on 30mg daily of Prednisone since April. It was glorious. The only pain I still had was in my left knee due to osteo in it. I tapered myself down to 20 mg and I was still fine. Spoke with Rheumatologist and she insisted I taper down to 5mg a day. I've been at 10mg for a few days now and have felt the pain come back slowly and then this morning I woke up to stiff and puffy hands. I'M NOT GOING BACK TO BEING BEDRIDDEN. I can't and won't do it. I don't need the 30mg or the 20. I'll compromise at 15mg. I've been taking my D3, and Calcium.
I'm so sad/stressed this morning.

2021.12.01 09:38 randomusernameahh Any (medicine related) essay competitions for people who aren’t in medicine or Year 12/ sixth form (gap year student here)

I put in my PS for med that I look to take part in more essay competitions (it’s more than this I promise it’s not as bad as I say) but the only issue is that I can’t really, find any. Which aren’t for Year 12 students or for people already in medicine, or at least aren’t open to people like me who’s on a gap year so neither Year 12 or in medicine haha
Any help in finding some? Thank you🥲

2021.12.01 09:38 WendetaWasp Problem with MS Whiteboard and Wacom Bamboo Ink Plus

Hi, some time ago there was an update of this app (win10 on PC) and since that time I can't use buttons on my stylus to erease or lasso. They just don't work, even though the stylus should be optimized for windows Ink interface. What can I do to improve that? Is that a problem of the pen being outdated, or MS just wants to piss me off and make me buy the Surface pen? Do any of you have the same problem?

2021.12.01 09:38 JPMmiles Clean up the flopping

If MLS really wants this sport to catch on with Americans then we have to do something about the flopping.
And no, I don’t mean trying to sell a foul.
And no, I don’t mean taking a minute after a hard tackle (I don’t love it, but whatever).
I’m talking about late in the game, running over and diving on the ground to halt play before a throw in - MULTIPLE TIMES.
It had nothing to do with why NYCFC won or the Revs lost. But it is absolutely horrendous for the fans to have to sit through.

2021.12.01 09:38 hot_and_sticky Why does value appended to list change dynamically?

Python Version: 3.9.5
My Code:

cells = [[i, i] for i in range(3)] steps = [] for t in range(2): for i in range(len(cells)): xrand = random.randint(-5, 5) yrand = random.randint(-5, 5) cells[i][0] += xrand cells[i][1] += yrand steps.append(list(cells)) print(steps)
Actual Output:
[[[3, 3], [2, 3], [6, 3]]] [[[4, 7], [-3, 2], [8, 3]], [[4, 7], [-3, 2], [8, 3]]]
Expected Output:
[[[3, 3], [2, 3], [6, 3]]] [[[3, 3], [2, 3], [6, 3]], [[4, 7], [-3, 2], [8, 3]]]
I am changing the value of the list cells every time in the outer loop and appending the modified list to the steps list. As you can see in the output, in the second iteration, the first element of cells is also modified even though I am only appending an element to the list.
The first element of steps is the cells list from the previous iteration. But in the second iteration, both elements dynamically change even though I am only appending an element and so the first element shouldn't be affected.
Why does this happen and how do you overcome this?

2021.12.01 09:38 Gaelgeyr Newcastle United will not be relegated

"We're doomed" "Shocking form" "Down before Christmas" "History says blah blah"
Context is important in any situation, but never before has it been so dearly missed when speaking about Newcastle United's current season.
Food for thought for the people unwilling to unearth the real situation at hand:
Watford Their last 6 games sees them with 4 draws and two wins, compared to our 4 draws and 2 losses. As everybody has pointed out, we've been extremely unfortunate not to have won a couple of games this season, and with a bit of luck, we would have been sitting on 13 points level with Watford. Luck is an interesting thing in football, and I'm confident our luck will improve and balance out over the long 38 game season.
Watford's next two fixtures are Chelsea and Manchester City.
Ismaila Sarr, Ben Foster and Nicolas Nkoulou are all currently injured. Sarr is rumoured to be out for a month, even if he recovers, he's due to attend the African cup of nations in January.
We next play them at home on Jan 15th in a winnable tie, with Howe having had more time with the squad and two weeks of the transfer window by this point.
Burnley Their last six game's record being almost identical to ours, with the exception of a win instead of a draw, with that being their only win of the season to date.
Unfortunately James Tarkowski and Ashley Westwood will be available after already serving a one game suspension.
They play Wolves tonight, meaning we have the extra day on them to prepare for the upcoming Saturday fixture (although playing 85 mins with 10 men might have nullified this advantage)
Only notable longer term injury being Ashley Barnes
Burnley are struggling for wins and form and one wonders could this be the season they come unstuck, will no reinforcements likely in January.
Norwich Their recent wins came over Brentford and Southampton. Both teams I'm sure you'll agree we would have beaten had we started the season with Howe.
They're cashing in their lucky chips early, their performances don't warrant the points, having watched only two of their recent matches it's not an unfair suggestion that they are gone, they play terrible football and don't have the quality to stay in the division. It's been suggested they don't have another gear up like Newcastle or Burnley potentially have. As mentioned above, maintaining good or bad luck isn't likely over a 38 game season.
Southampton Three wins in total, all 1-0 against Villa, Watford and Leeds. Performing poorly so far this season, lucky to have grab a draw from us at the death.
We've scored 5 more goals than them in the league and they only sit on 14 points.
Their next three games include Arsenal and Leicester.
Stuart Armstrong the only longer term injury of note.
Leeds Two wins in their last six. A late 1-0 penalty win over Palace and a 2-1 win over Norwich the only reason they aren't in the drop zone currently.
My heart believes Leeds will kick on and be fine, but for the sake of consistency let's dig a little. Leeds famously drop off towards the end of the season as a result of Bielsa's style and one worries that if this happens again this season, coupled with their slow start, then it's only the middle part of the season they're counting on for points.
Unlikely, but an 18th place trap door drop could be in the back of their fans' minds.
Their next five fixtures include Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool, The Arsenal fixture being the only home game against those four. It would seem we are not the only ones with a tough set of Christmas fixtures.
Koch is the only injury as Bamford and Ayling both played for the U23s and are close to a full return.
Brentford Again another 1-0 penalty win against Everton keeping that propped up the table. Their last six matches being 4 losses, the draw against us and the win against Everton.
They play Spurs, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City in December. Once again dispelling the myth that we are the only ones with a tough Christmas fixture list.
Losing to Norwich and Brighton was telling after we managed to take two points from both.
Performances, stats and fixtures suggest they will be dragged down sooner rather than later. With their only hopes depending on keeping Toney fit for another 25 odd matches.
Newcastle So let's look at the facts surrounding us that people are ignoring when discussing the situation.
Points from safety - 6/7 depending on goal difference Points from Burnley - 2 Points from Norwich - 3 Points from Watford - 6 Points from Southampton - 7 Points from Leeds - 8 Points from Everton - 8 Points from Brenford - 9
You don't have to be a genius to understand that overturning a 6-9 point swing over a period of time is more than manageable, more so when there are 24 fixtures remaining.
For the sake of variety, instead of fixating on our December fixtures, let me draw your attention to the 2nd of Jan to the 5th of March Our fixtures include:
Southampton, Watford, Leeds, Everton, West Ham, Brentford, Aston Villa and Brighton
With our week on week improvements under Howe, coupled with the January transfer window this set of fixtures reads far calmer than the ever mentioned December list. Two months in which the hardest games of paper are West Ham and Everton, the latter of the two being in the awful form in which we could even take points from them in December.
Fixtures yet to play against relegation rivals: Southampton - 1 Watford - 1 Leeds - 1 Brentford -1 Burnley - 2 Norwich - 1
In conclusion, when you take a look at the teams around us, the points gap, the fixtures and then finally factor in the Jan transfer window, it looks more than feasible to stay in the Premier league this season and I believe will will do so. Magical points totals and history mean nothing at this point, it's just about the points distance to safety, which is currently still within reach and in our control to catch.
Thank you for taking the time to read and I hope people have enjoyed hearing about the other side of the narrative that's being ignored by our content creators and the media.
